Eilis: This was one of my favourite projects as it was working with a great team and a company that really cared about their employees and culture.
The problem
The engineering company was looking to move HR work offshore to a team in an existing HR shared service centre to reduce their cost base and make the most of the existing offshore teams. We partnered with them to find a solution.
The solution
- I worked with the client to listen to the issues they were facing and to clarify the outcomes they were hoping to achieve
- We worked together to document a project plan to prepare for the transition of this work to the offshore centre
- A small team was put together to work on the project and I coached them in what was required to smoothly move the work to the offshore team
- A very structured plan was set up to check the quality of the work one it had been transitioned
- Regular meetings and calls took place to communicate progress and ensure that all key contacts in the company were kept updated throughout the whole project
What was so successful about this project
Strong engagement and teamwork. The project plan was clearly set out and the timeline was easy to understand and was communicated regularly so that everyone was familiar with the key dates. I was there to help with the adjustment and to build confidence and skills. We put in place quality checks to make sure that there was no degradation of the service provided.
